# Adds customer change history

## The problem

- Every edit was recorded, but no screen showed it.
- Address changes from sign-up sat on a hidden copy of the customer.

## What we considered

### A. Changes in the Timeline {chosen}

- Smallest build; changes sit beside visits and invoices.

### B. Separate History tab

- Browse change by field, but adds one more tab.

- History in place, but every page needs more lookups.

## What we went with

- The Timeline shows each change, with old and new values.
- Each change names its source: customer, staff, phone or change set.
- A Changes chip filters the Timeline to changes only.
- Changes made through the sign-up link show on the customer.

Open a customer's Timeline to see every change to their details. Each entry says what changed, when, and who or what made the change.
